Hamas and Israel exchange the first of the hostages for Palestinian prisoners

After nearly 7 weeks of Israel's bombardment and incursion into Gaza with 14,000 Palestinians killed following the Hamas attack on Israel of 7 October 2023, it did not prove to be a one-sided battle in favour of Israel as Hamas is tactically stretching out the war with the slow release of the hostages and winning something in return.
