Dear Megan

As my numerous campaigns at 38 Degrees show, you do not campaign for things that really matter to ordinary people. People want justice to express their human rights, to preserve their liberty even in self isolation from society. When none self-isolates for political reasons, one should be left alone not get terroroised and there must be recourse to the law upon such victimisation as I have experienced: Please examine the attached documents that I have initiated for my private investigation: ToAllLegalauthorities&SpeakeroftheHOC18Dec2021.docs; ToNorthKentMagistratesCourt(ForOliver)17Dec2021.docs; ToBestofCareccSamaritansKMPTShahSurgery(LetterorAppointmentMedwayMaritimeHospital)20Dec2021.docx.

If you can intitiate a petition to resolve these issues then I would be happy to chip in with some more donation to 38 Degrees.

Yours sincerely

Dear Shantanu,

Like most British people, I don’t like asking for money like this. I’m not a professional fundraiser. My job is running campaigns on the issues that matter to 38 Degrees members. [1]

I want 2022 to be the year we get the government to really tackle the climate crisis. I want us to work together to help our NHS rebuild and grow as it recovers from the pandemic. And as Boris Johnson makes more decisions on how our economy can recover from the effects of Covid-19, I want him to prioritise people across the UK - not huge corporations.

But right now we don’t have the to run the massive campaigns it'll take to make this happen. I’m thinking about what we’d have to scale back. I can’t see another way around it. Because 38 Degrees doesn’t have big donors to fall back on, or powerful backers offering a safety net. [2]

I’ve done the maths and we need 3,000 new regular donors to help us keep fighting for that better future. A lot of people won't be up for doing this - or they won't be able to with everything going on in the world - and I'm worried we'll be left short Shantanu.

So instead of deleting this email or putting it on the to-do list, please can you choose to chip in now and make sure we’re ready for whatever 2022 throws at us? Use the buttons below to start a regular donation - you'll select the weekly amount you want to donate, and then be shown a summary of how much will be debited each calendar month:

Chip in £1 a week

Chip in £3 a week

Chip in £5 a week

Chip in another amount

Sorry I can't right now

Thanks for your support,

Megan Bentall

38 Degrees wouldn’t exist without you, Shantanu.

38 Degrees has no big donors - we’re funded by ordinary people who care, like you. Regular donations mean that we can plan future campaigns, pay our workers a decent wage, and keep fighting for what we all believe in.

In order to spend the majority of donations on campaigns, we keep a lean staff team. In the past, we've been able to read every email in response to our campaigns, but as 38 Degrees' membership has grown, so has the number of people contacting us! The office team now receives thousands of emails every week.

So to make sure we're still able to assist those who need it quickly, we're asking that you use the above ways of contacting us – again, emails sent to this inbox will not be read. Apologies for any inconvenience – but if there’s anything we can help with we hope to hear from you soon!
