Dear Matt
I feel this morning the the COP26 Event will once again be one of those talking shows for public display of the pretence that one does care about the Climate Change agenda that people have been concerned about. Whatever measures are agreed at the summit and whether our own Prime Minister agrees to the Net Zero strategy, it would not make an ounce of difference to what happens to the planet in 30 years time. This is because the fundamental root cause of Conservative Libertarianism has been given short shrift (https://theconservativelibertariansociety.com) You have further not commented on the following two petitions of mine at 38 degrees:

It is the global impact of human behaviour at an individual level that needs to be tackled, otherwise the only institutions that will benefit from the Net Zero Strategy will be new Corporations investing billions more on new technologies to try and meet those targets. I have started writing a book on The Evolution of Democratic Ideals as attached THE EVOLUTION OF DEMOCRATIC IDEALS.docx, to show you at 38 Degrees that we need the United Nations to ensure that all future human activities on the planet are conducted to fundamental principles of democracies within nation states and globally according to proportional representation as a milestone towards the ideal one day that the entire world will truly be a global community under one democracy of government at the United Nations with devolved States working under the ethos and principles of a new Constitution for the United Nations and the devolved nation-state assemblies across the world. Military expenditure will have to be completely stopped in such a global State of the world, so that conflicts do not arise at all between the States currently governed my individual nations each going in a haphazard manner to basically try and get the lion's share of what remains of the natural resources of the Earth, for that is the impending doom we are heading towards. Patchwork on carbon emissions cannot work unless there is a coordinated world government as I have outlined here.
I will sign this petition notwithstanding as I have no aims, missions, objectives, plans, hopes, anticipations, expectations, desires, ego left in my body, because I am beyond that in near Shunyata except to be doing my family-maintenance duties and fulfilling my responsibilities. You will note that the 15 books that I have written has not been brought to the attention of the United Nations:
Yours sincerely

Nine days. That’s how long until the COP26 international summit kicks off in Glasgow. It’s the most important global climate event ever held. But with experts saying current plans to cut global emissions will fall 60% short of their target, there’s a real danger it won’t deliver. [1]
But there’s still hope! As host leader, Boris Johnson has more influence than anyone over whether the event is a success. That means if he commits ambitious action to tackle the climate crisis, it’ll encourage other world leaders to follow suit. We just need to make him listen.
That’s why 38 Degrees and lots of other environmental organisations are joining together to call on the government to do three things: boost green jobs across the UK; protect and expand our green spaces so everyone’s health can thrive; and increase support for the vulnerable.
So Shantanu, can you add your name to the open letter calling on the government to take ambitious action to tackle climate change? It’ll just take 30 seconds but will help us ramp up the pressure before we hand it in.
ADD MY NAME
With just over a week to go until the summit starts, Boris Johnson needs to be leading by example. But the government's newly published Net Zero strategy - the plan to reduce the UK's emissions and become a carbon-neutral country - whilst good in parts, just does not go far enough. [2]
It shouldn’t be up to us to make the government take this seriously Shantanu, but as 38 Degrees members we're the kind of people that do what's needed to get things done. We know Boris Johnson cares what we - the general public - think of him. [3] So if hundreds of thousands of us call on him to step up his game today, it could kick him into action.
So, can you add your name to the open letter asking Boris Johnson to take ambitious action to fight the climate crisis? Our partners are handing it in very soon - so every name matters!
ADD MY NAME
Thanks for being involved,
Matt, Megan, Jonathan and the 38 Degrees team
